Our Project
Humanitarian association working for the preservation of the Amazon, its ecosystems and its inhabitants
Created in 2019, Phoenix Forest is a French not-for-profit NGO whose mission is to support reforestation projects and the preservation of the biodiversity of the Amazon rainforests.
However, we know that the Amazon is nothing without its inhabitants who suffer directly from deforestation and intensive monoculture. Indigenous peoples who once lived in symbiosis and harmony with the forest are now being dispossessed of their lands and their ancestral practices. As the land becomes less and less fertile due to the use of pesticides and intensive farming techniques (plowing, slash-and-burn, etc.), farmers are forced to leave their land to multinational food companies (especially for cattle farming) to find work elsewhere (mostly in the cities) or to become actors of deforestation themselves.
Phoenix Forest acts on 3 levels:
- First of all, we inform and raise awareness among our audience for the current ecological disaster in the Amazon
- Secondly, we collect donations that we redistribute fairly to our partner NGOs in Latin America.
- Finally, we go there as volunteers to lend a hand to these associations and help them in the carrying out of their various projects.
In 2020, the Phoenix Forest team was created by 2 students: Quentin Lecomte and Mathieu Raphaël who carried out the 1st mandate of the Phoenix Forest collecting €4,500 before traveling to Bolivia for 5 months alongside the Cœur de Forêt association.
In 2022, Phoenix Forest returns for a second mandate with 3 new members more motivated than ever: Noé Lefebvre, David Soulema and Oryan Madra.
